Defusion(tm) Map Kit 1

This contains everything you'll need (other than Quake and the necessary tools)
to make custom maps for DEFUSION.

DefMapSpec090.doc     Word 95 document detailing all the new entities
                         specific to Defusion, version 0.90.
                         (WordPad doesn't handle the formating right.)

DefMapSpec090.txt    Text file version of above doc.

DefGoal1.wad         "Blue vein" goal texture set wad.

DefGoal1_brush.map   The "blue vein" defusing goal brush. (Cut n' paste)

DefGoal1.bsp         A sample bsp showing how the "blue vein" defusing
                         goal should look in your custom map.

                                  Instructions

DefGoal1_brush.map is the brush that should be used for the defusing goal in
your custom Defusion map.  It already contains a light at the appropriate level
inside the goal. You will need to add a trigger_base brush inside the goal.

It is suggested that you place it approximately where the light is located.
(When a bomb penetrates this brush it is defused and the player scores.)

1). Just cut and paste this brush into your map.

2). Add the trigger_base brush (see the Specs for details on this.)

3). Check the texture alingment.

    The textures are already alinged at the brush's current coordinate.  So,
     you will most likely need to move the alingments to compensate for the
     brush's different coordinate in your map.

    The DefGoal1.bsp is included so that you can see how this defusing goal
     looks when the textures are properly alinged.

4). Only the very front part of the goal is meant to show in a custom map.

     You will find 3 solid color textures included in the wad and used on
     the defusing goal brush: black, yellow and mauve. All faces which are
     totally internal are textured with black.  The outer face of the goal
     which should be textured in accordance with your map design is textured
     with mauve.  The exposed faces on the sides and back of the brush have
     been textured yellow just in case one of these faces by chance shows
     up in your map.

     Using these 3 color codes, you can change these textures by doing a 
     global search and replace in a text editor.

5). Read the Map Specs for information on the different entities and their
     values that you will want to put in your custom Defusion map.

                                      Notes

cRum is currently hard at work on the QuakeWorld port.  We had not intended
to release a Map Kit until after we released our custom maps with version 1.0.
However, some people have already been asking for it and most of us are also
helping out with the X-Men TC being published this Fall by Marvel Interactive.

In case you've been wondering why the Defusion logo has an organic look, you'll
find a clue when you see the "blue vein" goal texture set.  Our full texture set
has a very strong organic feel to it.
