First of all, thank you for downloading Skeeter. This map was not created for standard Deathmatch play, but can be used by multiple players. The inspiration for the map came from my lame skill with the rail gun. I started first with a more vertical design, but then I was struck: Why not build a skeet shooting map? So here it is. I don't appologise for the aestetic flaws or strange texture use. This map is merely an experiment. It's primary purpose was to give me rail gun practice.

You and the bots will spawn with a railgun. When you fire it, you will notice that the ammo will always be full. There are a couple of bots (such as Crash) that, when given a railgun, will use the machinegun anyway. I don't recommend the use of these bots unless you're really afraid of getting hurt.

Layout

There are two primary areas in the map (see fig.A). The first is the Bounce/Bot zone, where everyone spawns. While within the Bounce/Bot zone, you and the bots will be launched back an forth through the air. It's a lot of fun to just get some Matrix/Kunf Fu-battle-in-the-air action while in this area and is the best practice for quick aim shots. If you would like to play in this area, I would recommend around six bots.

The second area is the Player Only zone. Bots cannot enter this area at all (see fig. B). This is where the skeet shooting begins. Use one of the numbered jump pads (see Fig. C) to get into the corresponding position. While in position, you will be give continuious Quad Damage and Speed power-ups (see Fig. D). There are five positions to choose from, each designated with a marking like this:
I should note that while skeet shooting with just one bot, the bot will always shoot at you. With more than one, a bot will occasionally take a shot at you. Shouold they kill you, you will re-spawn in the Bounce/Bot zone. It can be a challenge to get back into position, depending on the skill of the bot. There is some health by the skeet positions to help you out a bit.

Possible Game Play
There are several ways I have thought of to use this map. If you think of any new ones, please mail me.

Odd Player(s) Out

Skeeter can be played by two to twelve players with no bots at all. I suggest playing five minute rounds, where the lowest ranked players stay in the Bounce/Bot zone. The top five would get the skeet positions of course.
Standard Skeet
One to five players can hoist themselves into position and see who can shoot more bots. This is fun.
Deathmatch Style
Everyone can just play in the Bounce/Bot zone. i would not recommend this for internet play as some lamer will probably just grag five quads and five speeds every thirty seconds from the skeet positions. If you're close enough to throw something at them when they do, you should be ok.
Matrix/Kung Fu Bots
This can be had via Quake III Arena's skirmish menu. Just you and four bots jumping and shooting and jumping and shooting and jumping and shooting...
