Author's Notes -------------- Ascender is without a doubt the most fun dm-level I've designed IMO. The main reason for this, is that it includes jump-pads similar to those found in id software's Q3test, and it really makes the gameplay much more fluid. It also sports a multitude of sniping areas due to the vast, open layout. New to version 1.1 is bot support. The bots play very well if there are a lot of action going on, i.e. a lot of players, but 1 on 1 will be a bit boring since the bots aren't using the jump-pads in a "professional" way. The do use them, but they seem to be a bit heavier than the human players. You'll know when you see it. New to version 1.2 is the implementation of Patrick Cyr's brilliant JumpPad mod. It makes the use of jump-pads 100% reliable, and it seems that the level runs a bit smoother too, because the engine doesn't have to process all the zones I used to build jump-pads with in the previous versions of Ascender. In case you were wondering, the ambience for this level is a looped sample of Origami Arktika's "The Division Of Hemispheres".
