DmBlueMoon for Unreal by cranked --------------------- Map Name : DmBlueMoon Type : Deathmatch, Botmatch, Teams, KotH Released : 10/12/98 Editor : UnrealEd 209 (what else...) Build time : 200+ hrs Base : an old Heretic(!) level I made Author : Brian Wilson aka "cranked" Email : brian.wilson@lsdo.ssi1.com Recommended players/bots : 4 to 12 Number of Start Spots : 12 Map info -------- Large, natural environment. Lots of interconnectivity without disrupting the flow. Some fog/mist, turn off if it slows ya down. Other than that I tried to keep the frame rate down, limited poly's to <70 except for a couple of spots where the count hits 100. Be sure to look up at the stars... (with a 3d card anyway...) Modified several powerup timeouts and respawn rates to balance things. Invisibilty only respawns every 6 minutes so it doesn't dominate play. Audible signals near the top of the tower... and there is a catch to get in the basement. I play the level with 10 bots, or with 3-8 real players on a LAN. The monster character model fits everywhere, except a spot or two to balance off his better jumping everywhere else. Bots use all lifts and go everywhere except to the invisibilty and the kevlar suit on the pipe (they jumped up half the time, but otherwise ran back and forth... morons). Be sure to push someone into the chasm, the scream is great! Let me know how you like my portals! Known Problems -------------- -In software render mode some decorations show thru the floor above, and the crushed guy with the ASMD shows thru the rock; anyone know how to fix this? Let me know! -Bots camp in one of the pools (not stuck - camping), a few other things I would like to have tweaked. -Can't allign the texture in the two passages across the wood bridges - bad angles, but didn't wan't to give up the great color there... so sue me ;) I think I spent as long alligning textures as I did making the level, so the rest should be good. -Too dark for some monitors? It's hard making a level that isn't full of bright light but still looks good for everyone. It is a night time setting - grab a flashlight and some flares!
