Try running he game quakespasm -condebug and then post what the qconsole.log file says at the end.

Hi, it would also be useful if you could post some more information about your system. Please go to System Menu (Apple) -> About this Mac. Then click on "Further information" (or "more information" or something). This will open the System Profiler.

In the profiler, go to the Hardware node in the left tree panel. Select all information in the right panel, copy it and paste it here.

Then go to Hardware -> Graphics / Monitors. Select your graphics card (maybe there is no option to select it, but my computer has two so I have that option). Select all the information about the card, copy it and paste it here.

This information will help me to find a similar system (we have a lot of macs at the office) so that I can try and reproduce the problem.

for future reference, tell mac users to get to system profiler, click view, mini profile and then file, save and save as plaintext. In any case I hope this helps and if you want I can get the engine logs, but that will have to be later tonight I don't have time to stop what I'm doing and wait for a reset.

Turns out QuakeSpasm can handle anything. (36MB) is a demo of mh's 400 knight map. That was recorded on a Core i7 Q720 @ 1.60GHz, with 8GB of RAM, nvidia Quadro FX 880M (1GB of dedicated RAM) running 64bit lunix.

@MH Just checking you haven't missed this . Perhaps the issue is inherited from MHcolor, but i don't have the slightest. I'm gonna try and fix it this weekend... hahaha. I'm pretty ignorant about light maps and bsp.

EDIT: Looks like Ozkan fixed this. And we haven't got "-extra4" implemented anyway. Damn it's hard to find the mhcolour/mhlight source code %<

For people with newish Linux systems (Xorg >= 7.5) and broken brightness slider, these patched libSDL binaries should hopefully fix the thing.


I guess there could be side effects, as it's not officially included with libSDL.

But damnit, that website is horrible. Stevenaaus, like I said before, not everyone has a TFT screen. The site (text, logo) needs to be brighter! There's hardly any contrast between text and background which makes it a pain to read. Besides the fact that the menu/subpage titles are unnessarily confusing.
