I think its pretty standard that most people finish reading a thread at the bottom of a page, and having to go back to the top to do any navigation other than the browser's back button (which doesn't update threads marked as read without a refresh) is quite annoying. Logically (well, to me anyway), a topic reply button should also be at the bottom of the thread as well.
If nobody knows how I'd be more than happy to help, but judging by the description of the new forum registration requirements, I have a feeling somebody around here is capable
