I agree with both Sajt and Baker.
I have always been of the opinion that the world would be a better place if all of the stupid people were lined up and shot. The problem is that this isn't pratical, and the depression comes from realizing they aren't like us.
And depending from our circunstances, those people may be seen as simple annoyances that need to get out of our way, or as problems that need to be solved because they aren't in our way - they are our way itself.
Let's just say that I've gone through 200 days from March of 2008 to March of 2009 without eating, and that after starving to near death, going almost batshit insane and losing a lot of my intelligence thanks to sub-nutrition, people started to respect me more and to give more value to my programming skills because I looked better, even though my programming skills got a lot worse.
When we are fully dependent on this kind of people Sajt is talking about, the only way out is to do as they please.
