Radiation Rune's use limit can be bypassed

Although the Radiation Rune is limited to three uses at a time (four, if you count the one that takes affect when you die with the rune), a player can pick up another Radiation Rune and set off additional radiation points. In the past, a player could only set off 3 (or 4) at a time no matter how many Radiation Runes he used.

Is this a bug or a feature?

While it is possible to configure the server to use only the max traps per rune for the level, I've always allowed players to place as many traps as they can get their hands on.

I did fix a bug a while ago that allowed you to get more than the maximum traps per rune. For example, you could pick up a radiation rune, place your traps, drop it, pick up another rune and quickly place more traps and as the original ones expired, they would continue to add to your total count. In fact, all of the trap runes had this bug.

You fixed that bug? But that's what it was letting me do the other night, that's why I mentioned it to Toyo. I found Radio, set off three traps, dropped it. Immediately found another, and set of three more traps. I did this until I had a total of nine areas radiated (I know, I suck.)

Maybe I am just not understanding what you meant. That happens to me a lot here.

It's possible to have 9 traps set at once, but the rune limits you to only placing 3 per rune. If you decided to keep your rune and wait out until the remaining spots expire, only the last 3 traps you placed will report with the message, "Your radiation expired".

If this is not what happens, please let me know and I will take care of it this afternoon.

The only benefit I can see for this is for the newbies. As it should be.. The experienced players will kill that player before he can set off more.. hehe. Hey.. I get it.. ;Þ

No big surprise, you were right. I have to drop and pick up a the rune again to radiate that many areas. But I don't get to keep activating the rune 9 times. I think that's what you are getting at. Although I could be wrong.

If you have 9 radiation spots active, I suggest you scramble for a berserker rune!
