Yuri Davidov continues his excellent Space Odysseys series with installment number three - Lost in Universe (See also Space Odysseys I and Space Odysseys II). Episode three continues the space theme, with some truly unique architecture and gameplay. This pak. file contains three levels which pack in plenty of action. Upon initial touchdown on the planet you will find yourself embroiled in a fierce fire fight with strogg guards and flyers. Don't give up! You can get past this opening salvo, just keep your wits about you and use the cover that you have on hand. On several occasions you will find yourself facing overwhelming firepower, don't give up, each one of these battles are winnable and provide an engrossing combat challenge. Architecturally Lost in Universe is stylistically varied and sometimes over-the-top in its construction. Beginning with your landing point you find strange aztec influenced totem poles; Indiana Jones inspired feats of agility and puzzles; doomish/quake1 type artwork adorning walls and corridors, and a very unique fantasy dream-like prison building. The appearing and sometimes disappearing platforms are a nice touch and offer a test of agility and cool nerves. The culmination end scene provides you the task of setting the prisoners free from the prison, and watching over them to make sure they all get safely aboard the waiting escape shuttle. A little logic and exploration will help you to complete this task. Speed is of the essence here! Lost in Universe is a fitting continuation to the very popular Space Odysseys series. If you enjoyed the others you won't be disappointed.
