That goes for SMB3, World, New, etc. . .the penultimate world was nothing but a hassle you had to slog through.

(I mean, it sort of makes sense with all the Mushroom Kingdom inhabitants being turned to bricks or whatever, although I’m not sure that actually entered into my youthful reasoning.)

But yeah, much more aggressive.

7-4 is probably my least favorite level, but really I’m not a fan of the “walk the correct path” mazes in general. Frankly, after two castles being more vicious rehashes of previous castles and World 7 bringing back half of World 2, I was surprised 7-4 was actually an original maze instead of 4-4 but now it has Hammer Bros. jumping between path rows or Lakitu filling the place with Spinies.
