Cheats: Detecting: Autoaim
KL33NEX
The most talked about (or rather tracking) autoaim proxy.

We will have demo's of the anti-cheat project members using this proxy in the "demos" section, maybe even known cheaters.. ahh.. we'll see... anyway, this proxy can track friend or foe behind walls, you can use any class (unlike those "sniper only" proxies you hear about), and is effective at long and short distances. Until we get these demos up, you'll have to trust me when I say: "you don't want people using this against you!"

Thankfully in the last couple of days we've come across a few things about this proxy that, with help from our servers, can put a stop to them entering our servers.

See with most proxies (considered non-cheat Qizmo, Nfproxy, Cheapo, Nitro and such.. ) you connect to a server using ".connect 203.[server ip]" but with Kl33n3x and other autoaim proxies we've tested (and no, we haven't tested them all, a lot of them still aren't released to the public I'm sure), connect using "-connect 203.[server ip]", and same with disconnecting with kl33n3x, it's "-d" or "-disconnect" in the console.

A couple of DM/QW dat files are already in use in the States and Europe with the Kl33n3x protection installed in it, quoting from the OCRTEAM in Denmark:

"The fix is very easy. In fact you just have to add one line of sourcecode to the "clients.qc" QuakeC-file and then recompile the qwprogs.dat.
It's in the function "void() ClientConnect" after the line

bprint (PRINT_HIGH, " entered the game\n");

just add the line:

stuffcmd (self, "say -d\n");

This makes every newly connected client say "-d" which is the command for Kl33n3x to disconnect from the server."

This has been an effective method for QW Tournaments elsewhere in the world, although there are some ways they could probably get around this, it would be effective for those who do not have the knowledge to write their own proxy, therefore stopping alot of potential users of the proxy.
Here is a small example of what the servers in the states see as each player joins the tourney.

Which I got from this stats page. (er.. which now has a broken link, but I got it from there! hehe.. )

The line of code above, wouldnt say that, it would just say -d as everyone joined. Basically, if they say -d when they join, they 'aren't' using kl33n3x, and the one's that get disconnected couldv'e been, which could get quite frustrating to the kl33n3x users (maybe enough to try it 'without the proxy').

The makers of TF haven't released the source code for TF2.8/2.9 and we need to modify the qw.dat file in order to do this (as well as get public & server support) it could be a few weeks before we get something together, but I am sure that someone has already done this for TF somewhere, so we will try and find it, otherwise do our best to modify it ourselves. Will update this site with the download as soon as it's available. In the meantime, please look with us and contact us if you find it or if you can do the modifications to the current qw.dat file.
