Bundy creeps outside to see what was making that sound. Thinking it was a HWGuy, he quickly circles around to get the jump on him. *BLAM!* . Pipebombs. It wasn't a HWGuy at all. Just another DemoMan trying for the remote kill. Bundy spawns some distance away and looks across the opening. And waits...
There! Movement. In the shadows by the respawn area. Figures, doesn't it? Well, he won't get away with it this time. Bundy chambers a round in Ol' Betsy. He gets into position and zooms in. And waits...
He hears a muffled Thump and then a Clunk in the distance. Now Bundy sees a faint yellow glow. Thump! Clunk! The pipebombs are piling up now. This guy doesn't want to take any chances, does he? Ever hear of over kill, fella?
Bundy waits. The gomer can't stand it any longer, so he comes out of his concealment to look around. Bundy zooms in even tighter. There! An elbow is showing. Bundy waits. As the intruder slowly peeks around the corner, his shoulder and part of his head is showing.
Bundy waits.
The Demo leans just a little bit more... *SPLAT!* Nice head shot. Like Forrest says, "Stupid is as stupid does!" :)
Now that the day has started with a suicide run by a rampant DemoMan, Bundy goes back to the supply locker to prepare for the next mission. As he is drawing his supplies, another sniper asks him what he thinks about all the sentry guns showing up in the wrong fort.
"Well, I reckon they have had their butts kicked so much, they just have to take every cheap shot they can. There is no place for that cheese on a public server."
"But what can we do about it, Bundy?"
"Well, I am developing some new techniques. For instance, you now how they like to put them in the back hallway in 2fort4?"
"Yeah... By the opening where they Rocket Jump and Grenade Jump, right?"
"Yep. That's the place. I killed three of 'em a couple of days ago. They got me the first couple of times. Those suckers had a level 3 built before I even got in the game. I spawned upstairs and dropped down through the opening so I could repel invaders. RATATATATATATAT! Whoooosh! BOOM!. Next think I know, I respawned in the same place. This time, I looked a whole lot more carefully. I couldn't really see it, but I could tell it was in the shorter part of the tunnel, by the steps to the water. RATATTATATAT! Got me again. But this time I was ready.
"You may want to try this next time you have an opportunity. I went over to the hole and turned in the direction of the sentry (front of the fort). I charged up Betsy and sidestepped into the hole. RATATATATT! CRAAAACK! BOOOOM!! Heh heh... I took only minor damage from the sentry. When I squeezed off my shot, it took out the sentry and two engneers. Very satisfying. Most fulfilling. The best part is, these dummies did the same thing again. I let them get it set up and got both of them the second time, too.
I knew they would be back. No telling how many free frags they already got in that spot. I got on the radio and called for backup. Fortunately, this game had some team players and a demo came to help me out. We let them in the tunnel before we wasted them. I was waiting at the far corner in the ramp room so I could get them if they managed to surf the mirvs. They didn't.
Further investigation revealed a dispenser at the foot of the stairs. That is how they were resupplying their gun, I guess. Watch these guys. They are working in teams now. The most important thing is to stop them before they get too entrenched, obviously. But that isn't always possible. When you have an infestation like that, do your best to get rid of them and find out how they are getting in. Just like Orkin gets rid of cockroaches. (Hmm... I like that :)) They are beginning to use the waterways more and more now. That is the most overlooked defense point in the map, so keep your eyes open.
You know what to do then. Ambush them. Make 'em pay. And pay. And pay..."
Bundy then puts on his body armor, grabs a medkit and heads out the door. RATATATATTATAT! WHOOOOSH!
