This is the story of how it all began and where it is now as told by BOSSK:
Last year while in #]AoA[ was where it started. I was still an ]AoAr[ just
hanging out talking to ]AoA[Sabotage-MD who had founded the TFRC just a month
earlier. We were talking about guilds (.K, >P and the like). At the time
there was only one of each guild. There was -e- for engineer's, >P for
soldiers, .K for snipers, MD for medics and that was it. Then I was talking to
Neurosis (korben) a few days later about guilds and I got the idea to start one
for my class, demoman. It didn't take long to think of a name. On the glorious
day of May 25, 1998 at 7:00 P.M. est. Det5 was born. Det5 was a well known TF
term and so it was, Det5 in all it's might and glory. I quickly changed my nick
to ]AoAr[BOSSK-Det5, but it was to long. I tried to think of something else
then it hit me ·D5· would be perfect! I went off to make my new QW
name and then to recruit some people. I went to #MP first and asked around
about their best demo. They pointed me to FlashBack (the best damn elevator
piper ever). I talked to him for a little and he decided to join. We wore the
tags in IRC trying to get ourselves noticed and better known. I was still
looking to get people to join and I asked Neurosis to join me he did also. We
talked in #Det5 about who else we could pickup. And this led me to #Clan_IC. I
felt kinda dumb going in and asking who there demo was, I was directed to
HellSent. We talked for a bit and he joined too! Wow, 4 people in one day. Then
]AoA[Rommel and ]AoA[Ragnarok. That's pretty much how I picked most of the
begining members, by going to the better clans channels and asking then who
there demo was. We picked up some more members, might have had maybe 7-8 then I
met D3lu$ion4L. We played on a pub, he wasn't too bad of a player, did need
lot's of work though. He asked me what ·D5· stood for and I told him.
He'd never really played demo a lot till he found out about Det5. D3l came to
almost every server I was at begging me to teach him demo. We did a few lessons
together and he moved along rather quickly. I could still beat him down but he
was improving. Finally he got his tryout and joined. Soon there after he
changed his name to DOODLE and I think you can tell the rest :). Heh, some
other stuff happened then StingraY came along wanting to join. He wasn't bad he
got his tryout BUT he failed his first one, one week later he came back with a
vengeance. He got his second tryout and made it into Det5! Around the end of
summer another demo guild came into play, PG. Now honestly this pissed me off A
LOT. Me and most other people at the time thought there should be only one
guild per class (as you can see, noone cares now) Words were spoken with PG and
they wouldn't give in and disband. And me being so pissed I just decided to say
screen it. I quit taking D5 down with me. What I didn't realizes though was
that the co-leader Korben wasn't gona let this happen (and thank you soo much
for not letting it). He took control of the guild and for about a week it was
all is. I realized I had made a big mistake so I went back asking to just be
the web-p1mp and I was let back in. HellSent got pised at me saying I was a bad
leader and never did anything with the guild and he left for PG. After about a
week of just being the web guy Korben asked me to help him lead, I accepted and
was the old me again. A few months passed and I decided it was time to retires,
again. Thinking this time it would be for good. I ended up coming back just a
short while later and Korben had stepped down from leadership letting DOODLE
and KashMir take control. So that put's us where we are today.=P
