Notes: The author of this map wanted me to review it in order to give him an idea of how well his first effort in map making turned out. I downloaded it from his own web page, and got to work.

First impression from the outside courtyard view is typical 2fort4 clone. But in this case, it just isn't so bad. The rest of the base, architecturaly, is completely different. I really was impressed with the base design, it's simple but not boring. You can tell he's played a great deal, because he's really made sure that this map doesn't limit any of the classes. The main design of the forts aside, the interior detail is great, it's tight and frag prone, but nice.

Since he still hadn't released it really, I took the liberty to make a suggestion. In the ramp room, the two ramps are facing each other, the bottom of those ramps is just too tight. If this stays like that in the final release, we can expect a great deal of frags for the demoman who sets up there. This is something that even got fixed in 2fort5, the ramps are farther apart.

The lighting in the ramp room is great! I love those skylight effects! The overall lighting in this map fits the ambience. The ambient sounds were used in many places and creates a good effect.

Being a relatively small map, speed is not an issue, when running through it, I could not detect any problem areas due to brush construction or excessive detail.

Gameplay wise, this map should be a great deal of fun. I often wish I had a server at my disposal, so I could put into action my TF Server Map Pack idea, because I've reviewed some great maps since the openning of this site, but very few servers admins seem to notice.

Two major problems in this map, that could really kill it.

You know, I am fed up of playing on 2fort* and Well6. It isn't the THEME I don't like, it's just that I am fed up of the maps themselves, we've really overplayed them and many people are starting to agree with me. If we can only start substituting the maps we are fed up of playing on, with similar, yet different and new maps. Like this one.
