The medic is NOT a support class! Do you ever see a "do-gooder" advance far in the enemy's fort? While the concepts of heroism and team-advancement are noble, the simple fact is: the medic is second-to-none as a purely offensive class. Healing a teammate is worthy, but going down in flames to give a soldier health is not my idea of a successful offense. The main trick to being an offensive medic is to get in the defense's face. A soldier will more likely kill himself with his own rockets when you're right next to him. In the enemy's base, the Super Nailgun is next to useless against stationed defense, because it relies on stream damage as opposed to the Super Shotgun's burst damage. Quick killing with a Super Shotgun and a grenade is far more successful than streaming fire with a Super Nailgun. The only exceptions are removing a sentry gun and making an in-base sniper head for cover.

The greatest asset to a medic who escapes with the flag is the "medic's shield", which is a self-exploded concussion grenade. This is very useful at 2fortx's top spiral, since you do not have to stop running.
