The manuals for both Quake TF and HL TFC give the following stats about the Combat Medic:

Speed: Fast
Armor: Medium armor (Maximum of 100 yellow armor)
Weapons: Medikit, single-barrel shotgun, double-barrel shotgun, and super nailgun
Grenades: 3 hand grenades and 2 concussion grenades




The Medic is an enigma in teamfortress, being the single class who's whole purpose and reason for existence lies in helping other people. His ability to heal team mates, removing the need for them to return to their respawn areas, can be the decisive point in maintaining a sturdy defense. However, his good speed and resonable health (combined with the fact that he can regenerate lost health) makes him ideal for short offensive actions, supporting flag runs and clearing sniper nests.

The medic has one of the most important weapons in the game... the Medikit/Bioweapon. It is very useful helping your friends and hurting your foes. When you see a team mate in need of health you can heal them by striking them with the axe in Quake TF or using the medkit in TFC. If you see that an enemy has a low ammount of health then you can likewise hit them with the bioweapon/use the bioweapon and they will - eventually - die from a 'mysterious tropical disease'.
(Note: In Quake TF you must use the 'ID' command to check on a team mate's health, but in TFC it is displayed automatically)


The supernailgun is a very powerful weapon that is one of the most powerful in the game. You should use this to attack rather than the medikit/bioweapon because you can get a rocket in your face much easier when you are within melee range of your opponent. Try and keep your nail supply at a maximum as you will usually use them all in a good attack.
