Well where to begin? I suppose I should start back in my old anime irc days on a privately run server and channel #db. I'd always hear Quake this, Quake that, so I went on a great trek to find it and I eventually was successful. I went straight to CTF with the Quake junkies in the channel and I got smoked. Playin on a P100 with 16 megs of RAM and with an MSN connect just doesn't work :) So I'd play and play on quake.webzone.net but never really getting good. I'd usually have 500-1000 ms pings but I never really knew what that meant :) I eventually got a different connection, a local ISP called OCTonline and continued to play, especially over the modem with my friend against CTF bots. Well one night some guy was talkin to us about a mod called TF. I had heard about it before but I thought it was just modified CTF. How wrong I was :) Me and my bud eventually got TF workin and played for literally 6 hours. I instantly fell in love with TF :) Afterall, who could beat the demoman's detpack would could basically nuke the level; TF 2.5 you remember.
Eventually me and a different friend, Etherwolf started a TF clan called [NERV] which stood for Clan Evangelion. We couldn't really get started as neither of us really wanted to run the clan. So Etherwolf joined ATF and I dwindled away just pubbin occasionally. Then in October I got Rogers wave cable modem and finally started to get serious about TF. I joined CK which had a few good guys like Midian and Halfshot and we scrimmed MP a few times and got our asses handed to ourselves :) During this time, a couple guys were close with CK, they were [FiX]Kurse and [FiX]BioBot (this was one of his names I believe) These 2 offered 5 of us CK, spots in FiX. Us kowing that CK was dying, left for FiX.
This is where I improved and learnt a whole buncha "tricks" like the water conc jump(thanks bj). FiX had a good run, beating .M and MiD but I eventually left to another clan, GDI due to a friend I'd met numerous times on pubs, Buck. GDI seemed skilled, but the leadership was horrible. We beat DS in an extremely controversial scrim/match, Im not sure, nor do I care anymore, which gave us a bad name. GDI went splitsville and I was clanless once again. I then joined a new clan called WilD with guys such as Pepto (ex-UvM), Reaper, Backfire[Djedi], Sideswipe[TrF], Grim(ex-AiC) and HiWay (ex AD and ZT I believe). We were in DW3 and beat NERD and lost to ZT and DL and got absolutely smashed by CE on rock1. We broke up due to some problems (I forget). Now around that time I started hanging in #r2k and become buds, I suppose, with lotsa the UN guys. I joined them shortly after and started learnin many things about the TF community, who the best clans were, and stuff like that.
In UN I met a whole buncha guys who I'm still friends with today. Free_mason, Zeo aka Ab[M], Lore, AsPrIn, etc. UN went down about a month after I joined and I was clanless once again. I decided to follow my fellow Mississauga boy fm to BH. They seemed like nice enough guys and had a good record :) BH was also and still is IMO, the most honourable clan in TF. And that's where I am today with no intentions of leaving and of course BH will always be around :)
I hope all that made sense as Im very tired and Im also trying to eat :) So in ending I'd like to shout out to BH and co.
Angst, FM, Kindling, Khary, Portal, Wario, Luchy, Pman, Tekton, Woof, foO, CC, BB, Jokah, Megaprek, Speedy, Grumps, Damien, Kismoose, Faust, Muda, Backfire[Djedi], PB, crass, Bain, pup and bot :) I know it's long but too bad and if I forgot anyone I'm sorry, I can't remember all the names after 18 months of TF.
