If you see or more of these, it is likely there is a demoman hiding close ready to detonate them if you get close. They are often used to protect a dropped flag and vulnerable area. A wise demoman will send out a spread of these to make up for their relatively low blast radius, making it very hard for you to get close
without being blown away. They can also be used for pipebomb jumping. They can also be used as an explosive grenade. They can be launched then detonated close to an enemy, making it seem as if they explode on contact. This is hard to do but very effective if you get the hang of it. |
