The Competition

Well, i did a little better this past week finishing off at 6-2 while Lud held steady at 5-3 again.  I'll be reseting Lud's and mine records and percentages so we can start from scratchand really see how is the best.  I already know that answer, but I just need to convince Lud that I'm better than him.  :-)

I'll have any Silver Division news andthe predictions postedin the first week of January.  Everyone have a fun and safe holiday.  Spend timewith your family and friends and for those of you who never orrarely do, turn the damn computers off.  :-)

aXe vs CiaB
aXe has been playing great for the past month and is on a 4 game streak.  CiaB has won thier last 2, but they rarely get on an extended winning streak for some reason.  The last time aXe played 2fort5r was against iQ and they got demolished to a tune of 16-1.  There's no way aXe is going to give up 16 caps this week.  The last time aXe and CiaB faced off, aXe came out ahead by 5 caps on shoop.  CiaB has won thier last couple 2f5r matches, but they were against Ons and FC who were not as good as aXe is now.  This should be one of the better matches this week, but aXe will emerge victorious yet again.

wTf vs MC
The last time MC and wTf faced each other, the match ended in a tie.  This STA so if it comes down to that they're gonna be up late playing OT.... Both clans have been playing well recently these used to be allies (I'm not sure if they still are or not) so they know each other very well.  wTf's page hasn't been updated recently so I don't have recent match stats on them.  They are on a 1 game winning streak and have been in the titleshot many times, as have MC.  Unfortunately I see wTf doing what they've done so many times in the titleshot match and that is lose a close one.

r3m vs {P}
This is probably the best match up of the week.  r3m who at one point totally dominated thier competition, but has started losing recently and {P} who has yet to lose a match in STA.  r3m lost a close match to CiaB in the titleshot match last week and will be looking for revenge.  {P} took down BH last week by just 1 cap.  {P} and r3m have faced each other before on 2f5r and {P} dominated r3m for a 6-1 win.  Either clan could take this one, but with r3m being a little shakey in recent matches and {P}'s preparation and skill, I think {P} will come out on top and remain undefeated in STA.

IcE vs UP
UP has been kicked from STA due to not having a webpage, a real IRC channel, and no response to repeated emails/icqs by STA officials.  IcE gets a default win.

Wn vs BH
BH has come a long way from the days of dominting STA Gold.  I think they held the Gold Title for 4 or 5 straight weeks.... Anyway, that is in the past and BH is 3-4 in Silver after dropping thier last 2 matches.  Wn is 1-1 after losing in OT to VII last week.  This match could either way.  Strats shouldn't be much of an issue with the map the well-known 2f5r.  BH may not be as good as they once were, but they're playing Wn, not WM this week and should take the win and improve to .500 in STA.

DLG vs DoW
DLG lost a close match to MC last week (1-0) while DoW schooled NULL for a 10-5 win.  DLG has been looking better and better in recent weeks and I'm very surprised they are still stuck at the .500 mark.   This will be a good test of how much DLG has improved recently.  Neither one of these clans seem to be able to put together any kind of sustained streak.  At most they lose one or two before winning again and the same goes for winning.  2f5r isn't DLG's best map, but I htink they'll be able to pull out a win against DoW.

SD vs DK
DK has been having major problems in recent weeks and hasn't won a game in 2 months.  If they lose this week they'll tie the record for longest losing streak in STA (7).  SD hasn't won a match since moving up to Silver, but that has a good chance of changing this week.  Both these clans are class acts and I haven't heard about either doing any lame stuff in a match so however it turns out I expect everyone will have fun.  I think SD will get the win, but I'm not going to make any predictions on Snugg's spanner kills....

DB vs FA
FA has reformed and gets to face DB in their first match back.  DB has been stuck in the basement of Silver for ages and now is in competition with DK for the dubious distinction of last place.   FA hasn't been back long and have only played a couple matches (IGL 5on5 and STA 6on6), but they've won both.  At one point FA was at the top of Silver and they have alot of thier old guys back so I see them moving up fairly quickly.  They have to get by DB first, but I think FA should win without too much trouble.
