The Personalities of TF. About
this section: This
section is meant to spotlight the individuals who comprise
the “TF Community”. From
the clan leaders to the clan members… the league officials to the
TF Journalists… from the naïve newcomers to the retired, cynical veterans…
from the TF legends in their own time to the TF legends in their own
mind… this article will explore the “personalities” behind
the aliases. I will investigate their thoughts,
feelings, and beliefs concerning various aspects and issues in TF,
as well as their own, individual TF history.
I will also consider the “people behind the alias”, that is,
who are they when they aren’t mere pixels on our monitors. In a hopefully interesting way,
I will discuss the ways in which “real-life” personalities relate
to the corresponding “personalities of TF”. Though the
specific focus of this section may change, its purpose is to provide
interesting, entertaining views of the people each of you interact
with, every time you enter the world of TF. I would also like
to hear from you, the reader.
You can e-mail me at [email protected]
- Who are you interested in learning more about? What kinds of things would you like
to know about the people you play with? Give me the names of those you are
interested in, and the questions you would like answered. Based on your responses, I will
orient the focus and direction of this spotlight. In the mean time, I will begin my
first article. Actually,
it will be more of a quick autobiography. Don’t forget to give me your feedback… About the
Author: TF: I started playing TF about 3 years
ago as an infrequent distraction when I had nothing better to do. The nature of the game and the overwhelming
preponderance of nothing better to do caused that infrequent distraction
to escalate into a full scale, obsessive-compulsive disorder.
As a clan leader, I am one of the three original founders of
SK (“Shadow Knights”) and I led TN (“The Nothing”) until the state
of TF (and my PL) compelled me to step down.
As a League official, I played an active role in the LOC (League
of Clans), and played a major role in the creation and development
of the ATFL (Allies of Team Fortress).
Finally, as a clan member, I played for the Knights of Quake. Since making the decision
to minimize my time in TF earlier this year, I have spent most of
that time chatting with people, following TF news. When I get my PL-free connection
this Fall this may change, but for now, don’t look for me on the TF
servers. At any rate,
in my active time in TF, I interacted with a great number and variety
of people. Whether I
found someone worthy or found them worthless, I always found
them interesting. Whether
I still enjoy the game or not, I STILL find them interesting. Real-Life: I am a 24-year-old man-child attending
school at FSU, pursuing the undergraduate part of a PHD in the field
of psychology. In that
field, my interests range from clinical aspects of human behavior,
“psychopathology”, (this will probably be a very useful term for the
reader to know considering some of the more “colorful” TF personalities.)
to forensic applications such as the increasingly popular investigative
psychological profiling. Other
than academics, I spend my days selling electronics and making sweet
love to my girlfriend (about 8 hours and 2 minutes, respectively.
I once “made the beast with two backs” for an hour and 3 minutes!
Later she told me it was daylight’s saving time L). Well, that
concludes the debut for “Personalities of TF”. Be sure to e-mail me the names and
questions YOU want to see. Mournblade
