World Craft Setup

First you will need to download the popular Half-Life map Editor from Valve Software. The web site is http://halflife.gamedesign.net/ and you can download the newest release from there.

You will then need to install the program to something like "Program Files" or "Games" directory on your computer. I chose "Games" because World Craft is a game map editor. After you install you should see a icon for World Craft on your desktop, don't bother with your start menu, you will not find it. Now Open Works Craft (keep in Mind, If your working with a P2 450 or less your not going to have much luck!) Now that World Craft is open it should look like bellows example.

Now under the "Menu Bar" at the top of World Craft Select "Tools" and you will get a window like below.

Select The Game Configurations Tab on the top and you will get a window like below.

Now under Configuration to the right select "Edit" then select "Add" then enter "TFC" then ok and close. Now under Configuration you should have TFC there. Next under "Game Data Files" Select "Add" and if you don't have the TFC .FGD file you can download it here "TFfgd15.fgd v 15e" this file should be unzipped and placed in your World Craft directory. The remainder of the information is self explanatory but if your not sure what your "RMF" directory is, well you need to make one. I made a maps folder under the World Craft directory for this.

Next lets go to the "Textures" tab an in example below.

Now you need to add the textures that you will be using to build your map. Below is a list of textures to add to this list.

Half-life\valve\spraypaint.wad
Half-life\valve\liquids.wad
Half-life\valve\xeno.wad

Half-life\tfc\tfc.wad
Half-life\tfc\tfc2.wad

Now to the next and last tab, select "Build Textures" tab and you will get a windows like example below.

Under Configuration Select "TFC", next under "Game Executables"  select the Half-Life "hl.exe" file location. Now comes the more complex part, the compile tools. You have a choice of the default World Craft tools (made in 1998 or so) or Zoners Compile Tools located at http://halflife.gamedesign.net/resources/zhlt.shtml I use Zoners Tools. Now the CSG, BSP, VIS, RAD files will be in your World Craft directory. Zoners Tools will have a "hl" in front of the file names and the World Craft versions will have a "q" except "vis.exe". Last we want to have World Craft compile the maps to the Half-Life/TFC/Maps directory so you can play them. Also I can't run World Craft and half Life at the same time and you many have this problem as well.
