![]() Author/Editor/Mapper: Neil Manke New Models/Skins/Code: Andrew Eglington New World Sounds: Magnus Jansén Producer: Bill Harms Sound Producer: Mike Wolf PC Gamer magazine in conjunction with mapper extraordinaire Neil Manke and his creative team have joined forces to bring you a Quake2 adventure quite like no other. You play the infamous Coconut Monkey (the PC Gamer Mascot) who has taken up residence on an island paradise. Coconut Monkey has become the target of the evil Pierre who along with his gang of vacation clad henchmen (and women) attempt to thwart your livelihood and snuff out your little virtual simian existence. Manke has returned in fine creative form and with this release demonstrates why he is still the quake level author to watch. As your island paradise is rocked with rumbling volcanoes you are tossed about, often at the most perilous times. The ground will often break loose beneath your feet, and flowing boiling lava will have you scurrying for higher ground. The first time you encounter lava on the move heading towards you, it is quite difficult not to panic. Nothing is stable here, expect the unexpected. The
look and feel of this level may take a few minutes getting used to. This
is not your usual Quake2 futuristic setting. Much like the humorous Quake1
classic "Happy Fun
Quake", Neil has taken the familiar and transformed it into a new and
highly original gameplay experience.
But
don't let the humorous look fool you, this is much more than just monkey
business. This is one tough engaging level.

"Beach Blanket Dayglo"...this gunner on vacation is still as deadly as the regular variety...although a bit more difficult to take seriously.
Pierre aboard the only boat that can get you off the island. Can you make your escape before the lava covers everything? |
