  • Quake: The Offering Released on Gog! Doom Bundle deal.

    For anyone out there that is still in need of a copy of Quake, or if you want a DRM free version of it (aka, not on steam), gog.com has finally put the game up for purchase!

    However, the catch here is that... wait this isn't a catch, you actually get the main game and both expansion packs for $9.99! While on steam, Quake alone is that price. Click here to purchase now!

    But wait, there's more! Before you get hasty with purchasing just Quake, Doom was also released. So, it's important to remember that if you buy all 3 games, Quake: The Offering, Doom + Final Doom, and The Ultimate Doom, you get an automatic 33% off, bringing your total for all of it to $17.31. If this sounds like a deal for you, hurry because it only lasts till September 2nd!

    Now, get to fragging!

    Does anyone here have it? Can you explain what the actual files are?

    I see hints of a soundtrack, DOSbox, glquake....

      @TheMachine

      DOS Quake, WinQuake, and GLQuake custom builds with SDL to support ogg soundtrack. Empty "MUSIC" folder, where the *.ogg files were. 3 CD images (bin/cue) of WinQuake, MP1, and MP2, DOSBox. When starting DOS Quake, DOSBox automatically mounts the images and starts the game with music, for GLQuake, you need to mount it yourself, or rip the soundtrack from those images (or our physical copy), place them in the empty "MUSIC" folder (for MPs you need to create "music" folders in "rogue" and "hipnotic" subfolders), and rename _winmm.dll to winmm.dll. The rest is pretty much the same as the retail WinQuake installation.

        Hmm yeah but I don't think SDL or new builds are involved. DOS Quake isn't modified, and I'd guess that WinQuake and GLQuake were just binary-patched like this: Steam Community :: Guide :: How to fix CD audio looping on Windows Vista/7

          Well, I'm taking into consideration the SDL and libogg dll's in the installation folder and the ability to play ogg soundtrack in general. Yes, DOS Quake may not be modified, cause it plays the soundtrack from the CD images.
