  • New SP Map Pack: Retro Jam 4 Released!

To all of you Quake single player fiends out there, you'll be happy to know that the talented Quake community had another quick map jam with Retro Jam 4! Everyone had 4 days to do it and the theme was based on Episode 4 from the original game. Luckily for all of us, there are more than 4 maps to play. In fact, you'll find that you have 8 awesome retro styled maps to traverse through!

Click here to download a copy of Retro Jam 4 and enjoy!

I've been playing this for a couple of days now. Is it just me or is this hard as Hell?!
I got the phone call at 4 a.m.

Yeah it's a bit harder than usual, partly because jam maps don't get a lot of testing, but partly because "e4 theme" gives some license to be unfair. :-) I like it!

I haven't had a chance to jump into these maps just yet so I can't speak to them specifically. However, I would say that maps being made today are usually tougher than maps of old.

I assume this is because everyone has been playing the game for almost 20 years now so most people that are still playing are looking for the challenge because they've some what mastered SP Quake.

I'm sure you're right on the testing aspect too. After all, they only had 4 days on this one.

Which one has been the hardest so far?

I've done RTlights for Retrojam4, you can download them here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/03yunopf35...-v1.0.pk3?dl=0

Rise your lightmaps to an high valor, about 0.800 or more, otherwise you can see too dark. I hope you like them

Yeah, unfair's the word! I'm a bit crap at games and this is really giving my chops a real work out! Still fun though.
