HTP2: Hexen 2 Texture Pack Release

Inkub0 has released his texture pack for Hexen 2 in the forum and Spike, the author of the incredible FTEQW engine, has ramped up Hexen 2 support in recent weeks.

FTEQW supports at least 8 games and QuakeTV and our Anti-Wallhack is derived from FTEQW so even if you don't know Spike or his engine, we've all benefited from his work.

    Check it out here ...

QuakeOne Drama: Does Wolv Finally Respect Baker?

As predicted, Wolv is capable of beating Baker at Rocket Arena ... doing so 15-0 [this has occurred 3 times in history; this was #3]. However, Wolv --- who "does not respect admins who don't play" witnessed Baker dismantle non-Wolv opponents at Rocket Arena handily. Does Wolv finally respect Baker? I hope so! (And hey, Kimp didn't even flood me! A nice courtesy!)

    Tomorrow: Much more news.

Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

I see some of the Quake and Hexen 2 fans have enjoyed your work and the FTE engine support is a ton better now.

As you know, Quakecon just finished and Quakeone.com is rushed
with Quake fans at the moment

A fair number of those are search engine bots infinitely lost in the countless number of threads trying to index them.

Still, yeah the site does get no small number of visitors during a month.

Hahah. Didn't even see this. One game of ROCKET ARENA every 9 months doesn't cut it when it comes to admins not playing. ;p

Nice to see you playing though.

I think I did a very handsome job of beating up the non-Wolv Rocket Arena opponents for someone who hasn't played much in a while. Unfortunately, it's not like if I played every day that I'd improve all that much.

[2 years ago, I challenged Omicron to Rocket Arena @ HDZ where he wouldn't have 18 ping and he [comically] backpedaled ... he knew better than to play me @ Rocket Arena.]

You and Rampage are WAY outta my league, though.

Either way, my fight is to revive Quake ... not talk about doing it, but actually doing it. And that's going to involve less playing Quake and more working on getting Quake "right". Believe me, I'd rather play Quake than work on the engine, but the buck stops here.

And it was a joy to play against you. I knew I was going to lose, but I wanted to see for myself how good you are as others speak of you.

FTE can run Hexen2 and PoP using QuakeWorld derived protocols. However, it is not network compatible with any other hexen2 client, and cannot play any hexen2 demos (including the pop intro). There has been no attempt to do so.
I've not tested it on any hexenworld progs recently, so I'm not sure what the differences are. I vaugely remember attempting to do so a while ago, so there's still a chance that it will attempt to load it, but there's really no guarentee that hexenworld mods will work with it.
