    I tried DirectQ, crashes at startup.

    FTE can do pretty much everything that DP can do (if not more) and is much less performance hungry.
    FTE seems to work more or less.
    Is it possible to activate "bobbing" weapons when moving? When I run Quake using FTE, the weaponmodel just stays fixed in place like it's part of the HUD and doesn't move at all.

    But it's a step in the right direction, if I can tweak a few last little things, I may actually be able to use it on my craptop.

      cl_bob 0.02 is the default, and should bob out of the box (unless its picking up some other config from somewhere, grr).
