    What's up? I'm new here, and while I've been playing Quake for a while, I haven't really started playing around with mods and stuff too much until recently.

    Anyhow, I've been playing around with this Frikbot mod pack which I found here VOGONS • View topic - Quake with bots and so far it's been pretty cool. The thing is, I want to change things up a bit and load different weapon mods as well, such as this one: Q2 Weapons Project | QuakeWiki

    Now, I have no idea how I could load the two mods together. I've tried merging the folders, but there's always some problem with conflicting files, including progs.dat which I am pretty sure is important for both mods.

    If someone could help me out, I would definitely appreciate it.

    BTW, I'm using FitzQuake 0.85. I find it does a good job of preserving the vanilla look and feel while adding things like widescreen support.

    The short answer is that you cannot.

    You cannot load two progs.dat files in Fitzquake.

    Inside a progs.dat file is the entire compiled gamecode of the game / mod. Two of these will conflict, in all normal Quake engines anyway.

    The only way is to merge the features you want from both mods (ie programming) and compile a new progs.dat. You would need the source code of both mods.

      I kinda figured that. I'm guessing there isn't some sort of decompiler then. Even if there was, it probably wouldn't be worth the time and effort to combine the two.

      Now, you mentioned that loading two progs.dat files isn't possible in any "normal" quake engines. Is it possible at all in any modified engines?

        let me try do the work, maybe i can get your progs.dat in few time

        EDIT: I couldn�t decompile the quake 2 weapons, i didnt test the frikbot pack (175 mb is too many ). quake2 weapons has an old frikbot support, so you just can use the progs.dat for Q2 Weapons Project. In the frikbot pack maybe you just need the maps (i do not know what the hell has this pack), so you use delete the frikbot progs.dat.
        - Create a new folder (maybe q2frikbot) and put everythink in there.
        if you have two packs with the same name (maybe pak0.pak and pak0.pak just rename the pak with another number, for example "pak5.pak" or something )
        - delete the progs.dat from frikbot pack
        - run the new mod and test it

        PLEASE: use darkplaces engine, is the better quake engine
