I accidentally set a big scale on a texture's width, and it stretched it about a mile long, and of course, it's a texture, so it's repeating. It ended up looking really awesome, sort of like an H.R. Giger pipe texture. Saving texture memory is nice. So my question is, will this impair performance more than having the texture at normal/close to normal scale? (My understanding of 3D engines and texture-mapping is limited, but I am a programmer, so I can take a technical answer.)
I suppose I could set up an experiment with r_speeds on...hmm...
Thanks for the responses.
