  • Original Quake Had Quad Sounds from Killing?

I've installed Epsilon to Steam Quake and I don't have the sounds from killing with quad damage.

    Quad killing starts at 1:34

If u cant hear the gib sounds its just drowned but the quad noise; you can barely hear the death sounds near the slime pool at 1:38++

Plus you have background music, and ambient sounds on too so there's a lot going on which cant be picked up without earphones.

Must be differences in computer. I hear it clearly in the Youtube video. The only sounds my game makes is when I pick up the quad damage. There is absolutely no special sounds as in the video when I kill an enemy with the quad damage.

Hmmm, if your Quake does not play this special Quad-sound when you shoot while carrying the Quad, then something is wrong.
Each time you shoot (doesnt matter if you are hitting an enemy or not), the quad-shoot-sound must be spawned.

If not, try a new Quake installation and try again.
You maybe use a broken mod.

Maybe it has to do with the Epsilon mod. Perhaps I'll look into where the sound files should be and see if something is missing.

It's more difficult to take someone elses mess and make it your mess, then clean it up.

I'd recommend starting with plain jane quake + darkplaces VANILLA no fancy addons to begin with! You can't go wrong here.

Darkplaces supports Surround Sound and you could be experiencing a surround setup thats missing 3.1 of the channels? IDK, worth looking into!
