MP music on Mac?

I have searched the threads and i am completely confused on how to get the mission pack music working. I managed to get quake with darkplaces to work with the original music. I made an hypnotic folder and put the pak file inside, what dir do i put the ogg files? I also couldn't find a way to run the mission packs without using epsilon executable file to start the MP. Any help would be great.

Inside hipnotic create a folder called "sound", then in sound create a folder called "cdtracks", place the .ogg files there. Mine are named track002.ogg -> track009.ogg.

You have to use the "-hipnotic" switch to load to load the mission pack Example:

Make a darkplaces shortcut, right click on Darkplaces,exe > make shortcut.

Edit the Darkplaces shortcut properties to read darkplaces.exe -hipnotic.

Dbl click shortcut to run.

Thanks for the reply damage_inc, but i am on a Mac, not windows so add the -hipnotic to the end of .exe doesn't apply to my OS.

OOPS, I forgot I read that in your post! Sorry.

Can you go to: Options>Browsemods>"scroll down to hipnotic">PRESS right arrow> PRESS "enter"? From within DarkPlaces? Will it launch that way?

Damage_inc, that works and launches the game. Thanks for that. Music still doesn't play, i have my folders "quake/hipnotic/sound/cdtracks/track002.ogg. Mission pack music is still not playing

This is a known bug for Mac version. All you need to do is convert all of the ogg files to wav. It will work after that.

1. quake working with music ogg

2. Mission pack 1 working, intro music doesn't play, but ingame music playing with ogg

3. Mission pack 2 working but for some reason is pulling original quake music and not MP2 music ? ? ?

If I rename the original quake music folder before playing rogue the correct music plays. Interesting but not a big deal. Finally got my fav game since i was a kid up and going. thanks for all the support!

You can select sorting by date, rating's, comm's etc Even use a quick filter. Some level/packs require a specific engine, and usually that engine is NOT Darkplaces :-P But most work well enough.
