  • Monsters invisible after reloading saved game

I've got Quake 1.08. When I save a game, quit then restart Quake, then reload the saved game, all the enemy humans and monsters are invisible, and random objects of various types float in their place. Very disconcerting. Suggestions, anyone?

I wouldn't use Quake 1.08, consider something newer. There maybe something wrong with Quake 1.08 which is why Quake 1.09 was released.

In any event, each of the following engines is superior to Quake 1.08 or Quake 1.09 by a long shot:

    1. aguirRe's Enhanced GLQuake or Enhanced WinQuake
    2. FitzQuake
    3. ProQuake
    4. JoeQuake
    5. QRack
    6. DarkPlaces

If you only intend to play single player, you can't go wrong with aguirRe's engine, which has interpolation/brightness controls/skybox support and both GL and Win builds.

Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Without knowing more details, it sounds like you have QC problems, check out my Q1 ToolTips, engine section: http://user.tninet.se/~xir870k.

What engine and maps (id or custom pak) are you using?
