I'm looking at a Samsung 244T wide screen monitor to buy in the near future. Darkplaces video options has a setting for 1920 x 1200, which is the 244T's native resolution. I was wondering if anyone here played Quake in wide screen format on any other wide screen monitor, and how well it looks compared to 4:3 monitors.

it basically stretches your quake is all,and quake players are gonna be fat-asses.when I used a desktop resolution of 1200x900 , my quake in window'd mode would make players all tall looking and shit because of the WS desktop resolution , but I dunno Qrack might run okay or even darkplaces, it depends on if the widescreen modes in either engine support it properly with black bars

(GeForce 7900 GTX 512 helps a bit though...)
If you would try anything other than the "native" resolution it would look as Mindz stated earlier.
I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

I got a 20.1 widescreen a few months back, I could never go back to my old 4:3 17"
I run Qrack in 1280x720 with a fov of 100. Looks awesome, here's an ss:
