need help connecting q1 with osx

Hi. Some may remember me from a way back (PaTrIoT) on the IHOC servers. I've been playing a bit of q3 but miss q1. I have it installed and working on my Mac (10.4.7) but canNOT connect. I tried a few months back and gave up after a week of effort. I don't believe it's my router (already tried bypassing it). Any help? I'd love to play again.

Actually, I don't even have it installed or own a copy right now (lost it, hehe).

So I really need some help!

Everything for a Mac shareware install of Quake is available at:

http://freequake.quakeone.com/

This doesn't included the registered data file, pak1.pak. Take your Quake CD and copy pak1.pak to the same location that pak0.pak is located and it becomes the registered version.

Try connecting to the XCTF server, which is a server that works even with shareware Quake (the XCTF server works with registered Quake as well, of course).

Type CONNECT xctf.clan-rum.org and see what happens.
