  • Secondary HUD Transparency??

    Within Qrack or Joequake, is it possible to make the secondary stats (ammo) have a transparent background? I prefer the secondary ammo HUD to be on the left or the right.

    Currently, the background is black, and I'd love to make it transparent like my main HUD (where cl_sbar is set to 0).

    I've seen screenshots where the side HUD is transparent, but I can't find any info on how to do it.

    It can be done ... I have screenshots I made where I was using some different HUDs and 7 of 8 of them are transparent in the ammo counts like what you want.

    One of the HUD element graphics either needs to be a transparent PNG or deleted or perhaps it is the background of the number itself.

    I'm looking thru the graphics and it is not clear which one is the case.

    Short answer: yes, if you replace the HUD with this set ...

    Basically take everything in textures\wad and delete it and use the above HUD instead.

    It appears that there are several PNGs in the above HUD set that are full white transparent PNGs -- far too many to type in a post.

    It looks like there are about 30 graphics that begin INV* that need to be transparent PNGs (I think) ... and that Yellow JoeQuake set is one set that has them.

    /I am not absolutely sure of every detail of the answer, but the FuhQuake.net forums are gone so I don't know a well documented place with that information offhand. But the referenced Yellow HUD (which I am currently using) has transparent backgrounds on the ammo counts.
