  • Bots and mission packs

    Is there anyway to load a bot and a mission pack at the same time? Or do most bots not support this? Is there one that does? I've tried omicron and cronos bots. I can play the maps in the mission packs but the new items and weapons will not appear. I used "wqpro -game cbots -rogue" for example. It only lets me play the maps but without any of the new features in the mission packs. Is there anyway to do this?

    I very much doubt it is possible to play the Mission Packs with bots.

    Bots usually (always?) have a custom progs.dat that controls the bots interactions within the game logic. Any gamedir style add-on has it's own special game logic. So you either have to use the bots game logic or the gamedir game logic (in the case of the Mission Packs -- this is the custom monsters/weapons/entities) but can't use both.

    If you used the bots game logic with the maps, the maps would not work correctly because the bots don't have supporting code for, say, the scorpions or gremlins or proximity mines found in the Mission Packs -- let alone all of the rotating entities, force fields and "earthquake"-style events that is in the game logic for the Mission Packs.

    This isn't exactly a field of expertise of mine so I could be wrong about some of this.
