To help keep this off topic, I will join Paradi$e in vouching for Thresh.

I dont know about the WASD claim, but it can be said that the man controls maps uniquely unlike most other players, does not rely on aim or physics tricks and simply plays intelligently.

His use of double teleports for quick evasion or blitzkrieg harassments are notable, as is his timing of dominating powerups and reacting to audio cues.

He is the most rounded player Ive seen and the least dependant on any one map to win. Something which I have recently realized was how map dependant many of us are, and thus have taken to playing on odd and unpopular maps, and have marveled at how much that turns the tables to quite simply not be on dm3 or dm6.

the wasd really comes off from the arrow keys being passed onto the left hand.

the arrow keys were used in DOOM days so that explains the origins of wasd, so u free up your right hand to use mouse.

i think thresh is a good idol to have, sure there could be people better or worse then him but he is a solid example of very good gameplay, so why not aim for that?

Lately my favorite match however is not one of Thresh's, but Romero versus Killcreek on dm2. The amount of planned ambushes and deceit in this match is incredible, and makes it far more entertaining to watch than a thousand demos of people with perfect aim who have mastered bunnyhopping.

well yea i agree with you, when u play against the maker of a game, sure he knows the insides and outs of it lol, i bet its a good demo, i havent gotten around to watching all the demos on methos or on challenge tv yet.

no one did, i was merely stating it as a positive trait. a lot of people get arrogant with that level of accomplishment.

i still find it humorous though that Romero is about the only player who actually knows how to jump across the dm2 func_train instead of being practically afraid of it. give that demo a watch, its a smart match with some good examples of when to hold back, and when to not be so aggressive.

func_train, func_train.. Why guess is the that little lava pit in the RL area where you can push a button to make a platform?

Thats actually 2 func_doors that "open" to those locations, there are 3 func_trains on the map actually, the 2 slabs moving back and forth over lava, and the one floating tile going from the YA slipgate destination over the mainroom to the GL/MH room.

I dont know, but most people never seem to try it, whereas Romero waits for it to be at the right spot, and then does 2 quick leaps and is across. Everyone else seems to get all fidgety about that location.

Sole is right, I was straight up keyboarder only in the begining,and one day [MFR]Maverick decided to help me make my transition from KB to Mouse easier on me,and helped me setup a basic config,which was

ever since,I've adapted my config to suit the game or mod im playing,and to this day, those main buttons (including m3,mwheelup and down) are incorporated into ANY game I play if I use a mouse to play it...

Leftyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ok and as to the orignal post on here it was about a fucking cnfig so dont spam my learning center now ok ive tried to post some of what some of the people who actually stayed on topic said but what happens is nothing or it loads as not being there .. ok when i came back to playing i downloaded quake of here and it had umm self install for idiots like me i guess .. now where getting somewhere i think i need a self install config seriously tho.. i download the proquake luncher from here .. now my main concer as to my config is my movement and mouse control some of the commands you have post before i have no idea wtf they do so how can i know how to adjust it to my prefrence.. so if anyone has AIM or MSN add me [email protected] thats for msn and Aim is MOoHAha411 maybe one of you nice people can take the 20 min to help me out real quick..
