  • [R00K]-QRACK on Ubuntu Linux

Hey this is basically for R00k asking a few questions about his badass Quake engine Qrack, so if you don't know what your talkn about then don't respond

Anyway, when I try to run Qrack in Linux using Wine I get the following errors

    "ChoosePixelFormat failed"
    &
    "bSetupPixelformat failed"

Would you know what was causing this? I'm really wanting to run Qrack in Linux instead of Joequake or Darkplaces. Qrack just in my opinion a superiour engine to use!

So help me get this running in Linux please I downloaded the Qrack source but I don't know what to make of it, I'm not a Linux compiling maniac heh

    [Sober Edit:]

Ok, ya wine for linux isnt going to work very well for stuff like gaming. The errors you are getting is in the portion of the code that tries to initialize the opengl drivers and set up the screen. So, things in linux land are going to be different than in windows thus the errors arise. When I get time (hmm) I'd love to make a linux port, if not simply for servers. But in the meantime, you could recompile the file in the following link on a linux platform...

Rook, I see a makefile in here, but I'm not sure exactly how I should go about compiling this? Any help/readme? Thanks in advance.
