    quick question:

i am presently using qrack, and playing both DM and supercoop.
is there a way to view the weapons that opponents/teammates are holding?

    cheers,

Not normally. It's possible if modded that way. Normally you just see some generic gun and the axe.

In terms of physically seeing the weapons in their hand, that requires a qc change and a player.mdl change. Examples of this being done can be found in the DarkPlaces Mod, and another which I think is called Deathmatch Advanced, but I may be wrong (cant confirm the name, tried to find its review on QCA but I cant find a working link for that anymore nor its listing on PQ, since they changed stuff around theyve broken nearly everything thats not brand new, and even ruined their own articles...)

An idea would be if its coop or theyre on your team, when looking at them it could centerprint their name, health, etc, and current weapon, or perhaps just have the weapon theyre using floating above their head like the old Build games.

It's technically possible with a mod, but it isn't being done anywhere.

i really hadn't thought about how useful it would be until i was faced by groups of 5 or 6 grunts in supercoop and ONE would have a GL or nailgun! and i'm like WTF?! which one is it?!

scar3crow: Think it was called somethign else. But I do remember the QdQ team using the code and the models for their movies.

16:03:30 <gb> the fact that only playtesting tells me that probably means that my mind is a sieve
