Can't access some servers

Hey quakers,

I am able to get to whitehot.quakeone.com but cannot get to rage.quakeone.com or quake.shmack.net. When I go into them it goes to 'Connection Accepted' but doesn't go any further. What is making this happen? Is there a certain port I need to change? Did OJ kill Nicole?

Your help is appreciated..

you're using an outdated client without the NAT fix, download either
WinProQuake~

Note : I find it very rude that there isnt a simple ProQuake/ AnyQuake client availible in "Vanilla" format at quakeone.com download section, it seems nearly everything has become EZ Installer etc,or some EXE installer.Hence why I linked to fileplanet instead.

I'm 99% sure that Zombiekilla (gregory) is using proquake.

Not likely unless it is a ProQuake older than 3.40. The "Connection Accepted" problem is the monopoly of un-NAT fixed clients.

ProQuake 3.40 and HIGHER/JoeQuake/Qrack/DarkPlaces = NAT fixed

Make sure you are not using some old version that is below 3.40

The reason he can connect to whitehot but not other servers is because DarkPlaces is NAT fixed on the server side (single port server!), but ProQuake server is not.

I meant I'm 99% sure he's using Proquake because I gave him a copy of it. Of course I wouldn't know if he's actually used it

Make sure he knows to start it up with c:\quake\glpro.exe or c:\quake\wqpro.exe (as opposed to using glquake.exe or winquake.exe out of habit).

I'm not using ProQuake. I basically just installed the game from the old cd I have. I told you I reformatted my HD sniper and was starting fresh! I'm going to download proquake and see where it takes me.

I installed ProQuake and was able to access quake.shmack.net. Thanks for your help.
