  • Qrack and teh shaft

I can't seem to get a smooth moving shaft with qrack. Here are my important settings:

    m_filter is at "0"
sensitivity 1.4 (I have a copperhead and it is pretty sensitive at 1.4)
-dinput is in the target line but I can't remember exactly what it does
    cl_truelightning "1"

-dinput to me makes the mouse smoother. You might try removing the m_filter and see what happens.

If you mean you want the straight shaft feature like in Darkplaces, I don't think Qrack has that.

I think Joequake has that. And Qrack is based off Joequake's code so..

I could be wrong, but I think Qrack only has cl_truelightning , it was developed in Qrack , and im not much of a all knowning of when a feature comes to light,or where it originates, but Sniper is right, Qrack definately has it.

I think -dinput is horrid o_O , I use a sensitivity of 120 normally, and if I added -dinput to my command line,I would need some unfuckingbelievable sensitivity setting to retain the mouse turning speed im accustom to,I might play with it tonite and see what all happens

Cl_truelighting was from fuhquake, but included in joequake. Qrack inherited it from there. The command itself varies from 0% to 100%, where as the shaft's end is exact to your aim vs, where the server sees your aim (via lag). It's true, though, it's not a straight shaft. Qrack randomly angles the "joints" of the shaft from player to end to create an erratic lightning bolt.
            Personally, i use -dinput, and m_filter 1, and m_smooth 1, and m_rate 125.
If you really want a smooth shaft, maybe up your maxfps, or remove your r_drawviewmodel... i think, if all else fails and your mind tires of the trivial, just create a blank zing1.png and plop it in your texture pak

zing1.png is Yellow No.5's cool purple and blue lightning that everyone likes.

It isn't a model, it is a QMB particle replacement texture.
