Explain what's in your pak3. Do you actually mean pk3? Or do you mean pak3.pak? Explain yourself.

Your HUD clearly shows that you have the ring of shadows equipped. Weapon models are partially invisible when you have the ring in Qrack. This is a good feature since normal quake just makes your weapon model disappear.

I've been using Qrack 1.80 & i cant read writing @ all

Your resolution is 640x400 you should try lowering the vid_conheight . Looks like its at default 640x480. Try either vid_conwidth 640 & vid_conheight 400 OR vid_conwidth 320 & vid_conheight 200 should make the text less disorted.

To open .pak or .pk3 files try to get pakscape http://files.filefront.com/PakScape/.../fileinfo.html

That image looks like gl_picmip is set > 4 or u enabled gl_textureless.

Try setting gl_picmip 0 and gl_textureless 0 and restart Quake.

When you install a texture pack it will NOT change your texture quality to low.
