    How do i get in a game?

    Hey im a complete newb at this so i apologize...

    basically iv downloaded ProQuake and when i try and get in a game, it says the map cant be found... althought i downloaded the maps and im pretty sure they installed...

    how do i properly install these maps?

    Are you using shareware?

    Almost every ProQuake question can be solved with the ProQuake Launcher

    But you need registered Quake for the most part to play online. If you have only a pak0.pak in c:\quake\id1 and no pak1.pak then you only have shareware Quake.

              I decided to install Q1 and play again, found this site it's the best. Anyway I bought the game in 1996 and installed it again today WinXP. Had to use Windows 95 Compatibility to get it installed, but in my options is says "how to buy Quake"? I did install ProQuake. Did I do something wrong?

              OT

              Downloading Texturepack_Ultra_for_Quake_Darkplaces now. Anything I should know before I install it.

                Yeap. That texturepack is for the darkplaces quake engine only*

                * maybe. But it definitely won't work on proquake.
