What video card do you have? (So much has to do with the video card!)

Start -> Control Panel -> Display -> Click the settings Tab.

If your display is an Intel Integrated Media or anything with the word Intel in it, in my experience none of the Qrack-like engines work 100% properly (if they run at all).

However, those cards all seem to be able to use GL ProQuake and DarkPlaces just fine (except the frame rate might be a little bad with DP).

I have an Ati Radeon. Qrack worked for me before couple of months ago with the same video card but i recently reformatted and i've installed all my drivers and updated them.

I have an ATI card in one of my laptops and it runs Qrack 1.70 fine (I haven't tried 1.80 or 1.83) on it.

I'll try it tomorrow and see if 1.83 works on it.

Qrack is supposed to run fine on ATI cards.

I just loaded Qrack 1.83 to confirm it works on ATI. On my laptop that has a ATI Radeon, Qrack 1.83 started fine.

I don't know what to recommend to fix your problem but Qrack should work on an ATI card.

Just a guess; maybe Qrack defaults to -bpp 32, which may be too much for the old ATI card. Try adding -bpp 16.

I dont think my card is old. I have an ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 512 MB PCI Express.

Maybe try setting -nohwgamma in your commandline?
