  • I'm a n00b, yeah, need alot of help plz?

Hey there, ive been browsing this sight since 2005, and mostly been downloading single player levels and new gfx engines, good stuff.

But now i want to play online, and I've got Qrack, JoeQuake, even proQuake. But everytime i add a server to the lists inside the game and try to connect it never connects! So maybe I have done something wrong, or these servers dont exist anymore?

Also I've got wireless broadband and the speed fluctuates constantly, making it go from 56k modem to 128k.. I've also been known to have excellently bad ping, fuck im sick of that.. 2500 ping, or 300 ping? Anyway to stop that?

I want to be able to frag not frag myself.

    Any of this make sense?

Wireless can be really inconsistent, I've played some halfway decent games of Quake on wireless but on a super-smooth wireless connection with the wireless router about 10 foot away.

I think Solecord had some major issues with playing on wireless and then he ran the CD that can with the router and this somehow resolved his issue.

As far as connecting goes, I usually just type connect quake.someserver.com (rage.quakeone.com, quake.shmack.net, etc) into the console. JoeQuake and Qrack have a built in server list, but I personally have not used them very much.

/Sorry you have ping spiking issues, I know that can't be fun

Oh fuck that, WoW is rubbish. Go spend another week at the internet cafe with your fat buddies getting pimply playing that game.

If for some reason you can't connect by typing connect in the console, use the ProQuake Launcher.

Click server browser and then click whatever server you are trying to connect to.

Just bare in mind that you can't connect with a NetQuake client to a QuakeWorld server and visa versa.. (except for DarkPlaces and FTE).
ezQuake is a QW client.. Qrack, JoeQuake, Proquake are all NQ clients..
This site is all about NQ, for QW see QuakeWorld.nu or Besmella Quake.
