I don't think there is any way you can run DarkPlaces with that much RAM. That's just not enough.

Add: I've seen DarkPlaces use far more memory than that even without custom textures or anything. You might consider going to www.crucial.com and typing in your computer specs for at least 128 MB more RAM (although 384MB more would be better). Memory is very inexpensive any more, who knows maybe $15-$30 would could get you upgraded to 512 MB.

DAMN dude, my first compputer with an AMD K6-II had 64MB...
I reccomend a 2x256 set. Find out what speed your motherboard takes. Since you only have 128MB, I'm thinking you have an old motherboard which might not take DDR400.

Well as far as i know, Qrack runs perfectly on my 16mb gfx card, which is a matrox millennium g400.

I have a compaq with 600mhz i know that is fucking shit, but only using this in the mean time till the other computer gets fixed.

Paging file sounds like the windows paging file thing. Is your harddisk full maybe?
Darkplaces should run fine even with not much ram I'd say. Can't see any reason why it shouldn't.

Well I can only reccomend playing Qrack for now, because on my P4 2.8 system with 1GB DDR400 and an overclocked Nvidia 5200FX, Darkplaces still ran like shite in some areas. 40FPS average, 1024x768 no AA/AF.

Teck, you should verify that you do have disk space available because Windows uses harddrive space for RAM when you are out (that's what the paging file is).

That being said, I just started up DarkPlaces and my setup has every fancy option OFF and it is using 75 MB.

Since your operating system and the other things that run in the background are certain to be using 30MB - 50-MB, I don't see how you will be able to use DarkPlaces with 128 MB RAM. But don't let that stop you from trying.

Maybe you can just barely get it to run.

Spirit is right. That's a suspicious error message. If you have the resources try replacing harddrives to see if you get a different result.

TBH Its not worth changing my computer for 1 engine. But I did that crucial website thing and it says for optimal performance i can install a maximum of 2x256mb pc133 168pin ram sticks.. So that would be bloody nice, hey know any other websites that can also do the same but for graphic cards and cpu checks?
