  • Mouse is screwy in Dark Places

    Hello folks,

I got bit by the bug of nostalgia and insisted on playing Quake again. I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 64-bit edition and Dark Places x86_64 SDL.

Now everything looks and seems to behave well except for the mouse. It moves INCREDIBLY fast and will only look down every time I move it. I tried fudging with +mlook and freelook in console, but it didn't do jack.

If anybody can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it!

make sure m_pitch and m_yaw are set to default values (0.022) and then set sensitivity to a low value (like 1). If your mouse still behaves like you described, there must be something else wrong (driver issue?). If not, move up on the sensitivity value until it feels right.

        Solved

Thanks for the help, but I got it fixed. It was because I was using two displays with Xinerama. For the hell of it, I disabled two monitors and it worked.

        Lesson: Use Twin View instead.
