Try a new keyboard, or download the newest drivers for your video card, or.. try a different quake client.

You can't download porn and play quake at the same time *lol*
Go into the command prompt and do a ping to the server in question. It's probably packet loss.

Sounds like you receive server messages instantly, but sending them out is delayed.

Almost certainly spyware of some sort re-routing your outbound internet traffic to some other place to so it can steal your passwords, etc.

You can try this for starters:

                http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/

But if my guess is right, you may end up needing to reformat to fix your problem because removing the stuff doesn't necessarily fix the damage.

                        1. the error effects everything I do on a server except play.
i can play like i have a 30 ping still but it takes several seconds
even minutes to switch weapons, talk, join teams etc..
it happens worst on speaknow.quakoene.com then rage.quakeone.com
I get CL_readfromserver errors at speaknow
and sometimes it will exit quake and give me a SZ_getspace: overflow
                        without allowoverflow set

                        2. Im not sure how I got the error.. I did a number of things
Got bit torrent and d/l 20 gig in 2 night?
                        installed crysis..
but I just formatted and it did not fix the problem...

                        3. proquake 3.50

                        4. no mods. no sounds. no textures. stright out of the box onto pc

                        5. ss will show nothing..

                        6. I did the developer 1000 and the -condebug and didnt really know what results I was looking for... here some stuff Iv never noticed before...

                        -winstock tcp/ip initialized...
                        -wipx_init: unable to open
                        -13.0 megabyte cache

what eles should i be looking for?

                        7. hardware... -- running windows xp pro
                        -- intel core 2, 6600
                        -- 2 GB ram
                        -- 8800 gtx

i donno what eles there is to say

                        8. firewall = indound firewall (norton internet security 2007)
any virus = see about (also formated)
router.. im not sure how to check that..

It would help to see the log (-condebug) of you connecting, playing, switching weapons, and disconnecting. This problem would probably be best suited for LordHavoc since he knows quake engine source code inside and out and can normally see something wrong in log files if there's anything noticeable.

                          Easiest way:
Look for a logo on your router

                          Easy way:
                          Go to START then RUN
Type in "cmd" without the quotes
You should now be in command prompt. Type in "ipconfig" without the quotes.
Find the IP of your Gateway. Copy that IP onto your web browser (where the url goes) and connect.
                          Look for a brand name.
