  • ProQuake EZ launcher (Baker)

Why are there multiple configs in the ProQuake setup. When I config my keys in one server for wasd etc it is only for that server? Its like there are multiple configs setup or something.

Can't there be just one config setup? I'm confusing myself now.

There is a config called boost.cfg (or if running single player, spboost.cfg) that the ProQuake Launcher writes every time you start ProQuake to set the preferences you have indicated (transparent water, the name maker, etc.).

It doesn't have anything to do with your config, so you can ignore it if you want.

Here is whats happening. I have my WASD layout all setup that I use to play online with on Shmack, Rage etc.

Whenever I play single player it seems to revert back to the default setting and default directional keys such as arrow keys for left and right and no mouselook activated etc.

I go back to online and the directional keys go back to where I set them up. It's like online and offline its reading two differerent config files.

      Any way to fix this?

The ProQuake Launcher puts single player settings in another folder because it is actually using Enhanced GLQuake for single player.

If it didn't it, would wipe your config clean of ProQuake specific features and no one would like that.

There is no easy answer, but if you do the single player once and get it setup the way you want it, it stays like that.

Whats the difference between enhanced GlQuake and ProQuake?

ProQuake has multiplayer stuff like ping and scoreboard, loc support, bestweapon, a router fix for connecting to servers.

Enhanced GLQuake has a whole horde of enhancements/bug-fixes for running maps and mods.

Almost opposites of each other, really.

Except that they are the only 2 engines that look exactly like Quake.
