  • what's going with r_lightmap?

    I turned on r_lightmap, and it worked on a server. Someone else tried it and didn't do anything for them. What's going on here?

    That would be multitexture. r_lightmap doesn't normally work on an engine that uses multitexturing, unless it's been coded specifically to support it.

      my guess is that its code from fitzquake being ported to other engines.. fitzquake is more of a single player engine that has these kind of options to help mappers.. all tho i like the effect of r_lightmap i think it should not be available for multi player gaming..

        I agree, it shouldn't be available for mulit player gaming. That screenshot was taken in GLPro, btw. Let me verify.

        yah, I can reproduce that effect in GLpro399, GLpro 3.50, and Qrack. I can't test it in glquake.exe as my glquake does not work for me.
