Baker, I need to disable directsound HALP!

I got a stupid onboard cheap ass sound card that has buggier 'n shit directx drivers and its causing my system to freeze up when it uses the directsound after a while. How can I disable directsound with the ProQuake launcher until I can buy a new sound card that ain't a steamin' pile?

Add this to ur command line -wavonly no DirectX DirectSound will be used then.
Note: the sound will be a little delayed.

Right, I'm not sure where I put the -wavonly command? On the GLpro.exe? I'll try it there and launch Quake the usual way see if that stops it.

ok, I looked around. In the past when I had this problem with a shitty Aztech sound card I would put the -wavonly command in the shortcut. I don't really have that option with the ProLauncher since it launches Quake. Can I put -wavonly somewhere in my config?

Got another problem, Prolaunch can't find Glpro.exe though the glpro is still in the same folder. I must have confused something somewhere trying to get the -wavonly command implemented.

I need someone who knows what I do not. How to implement wavonly sound with the prolauncher. And why prolauncher cannot find glpro quake suddenly when it is still in the same place with the same name.

Alright, forget the last post. It's now able to find glpro.exe again suddenly. go figure.

Just upgrade to ProQuake 3.99, it does everything the ProQuake Launcher does but inside the client. Start it with the command line option Polarite indicated.

But there's another suggestion. Make directsound able to be switched off from your in game menus perhaps instead of command line.

Well since I disabled directsound I haven't had any freeze up problems while playing Quake at all. goddanm cheap ass sound card company.
